Owning a flat screen TV doesn't really end there. You should learn how to maximize the uses of your newly purchased LCD TV. One way to do such is to mount your screen on the wall. It does not only provide the most favorable viewing but it also adds decor and elegance to your room.
Here are some things you need not forget if you are considering mounting your screen on the wall.

Measure up the size. There are actually different wall mounts for different sizes of LCD TV. Remember that size and weight matters or you'll just put your money along with shattered LCD pieces into trash. Getting a Samsung 32 inch screen is way different from a 50 inch model LCD TV so better consider size and, most especially, weight. Mounting a bigger screen needs more support therefore you should connect them using several studs and not just a single one. Moreover, you should also see some difference in the use of brackets in fastening a big and a smaller TV to the wall.
Of course, consider the type of your wall. Actually, flat screens may be fixed firmly to several wall types but the most common is studding with wood. Certainly you will need a stud finder to identify the midpoint of the studs where you will mount your TV. There is also another mounting option which is solid concrete wall studding or on a wall made of cinder block. To mount your Samsung LCD TV on this wall, you need to have concrete and solid anchors for a fixed and stable connection. Usually, wall mount sets have the necessary mounting materials included.
Aside from the mentioned factors, you also need to choose the type of LCD TV wall mount that you will use. There are actually three types to choose from. First is the fixed wall mount which offers a very stable but constant positioning. You will not be able to move your set at all. Because of this, you have to be sure that you know the exact location where you want to put it. Second is the arm mount which is the recommended type of wall mount for smaller screens. Your TV will be positioned flat adjacent to the wall. This allows you to tilt or rotate your TV so you can view it from several directions. Another option is a tilting mount which gives more flexibility to viewers. You can move your screen up or down depending on your viewing preference. You can rotate it to approximately 5 degrees up or 15 degrees down. This is recommended for most large screen sets usually parts of home theaters or big family home entertainment rooms.
Sure enough you need to find a way to manage the cables and wires. Make sure that along with the mounting of the screen you have settled as well cable lines and wires. You can use moldings or wall plates to hide connectors or run it through the walls. Also, inform yourself on the right electrical codes and connection. Some say that power codes should not be run through the wall and must be installed through a receptacle behind the TV. It is good that the latest HDMI cable has a single cable for both HD video and audio outputs. If you intend to connect other devices to you television, be sure that you have added component connections as well. It is easier to consider it and do it the moment you will mount the TV. But if you can, choose LCD TV wall mounts that has options for cable management so that everything will be convenient for you.
And lastly, you need to know where exactly you will mount the TV. The location really depends on you and your living and viewing space. Experts only recommend that the center of the screen should be placed a little above your eye level viewing position for a more favorable home entertainment experience. Keep in mind as well that you need to consider some space for your sound system speakers.
